Remodeling requires that additions be compatible with existing structures. Our experience in historic restoration work guarantees that our new construction will fit with your house's style whether it is an older historic style, mid-century modern or a classic suburban model.
Existing Homes can be retro-fitted to improve energy efficiency. We are building our new additions with conditioned crawlspaces as well as conditioned attics and ceilings. We also use spray foam insulation for basement walls and structural walls for higher R-values and lower air infiltration rates.
We do kitchens and baths. We create period sensitive kitchens or baths working with local cabinet makers Nancy Hiller, Harold W. Jones and John Barnes.
We do windows. Restoring historic windows and adding new storms is often a great option since it saves historic character and costs at least half as much as new windows. But new windows are sometimes the right solution. We install pre-made or custom windows with sensitivity and traditional trim techniques.
We are certified by the EPA as a Lead-Safe Certified Firm to safely renovate houses that contain hazardous amounts of lead in the paint or other places.
We are well versed in green building techniques and sustainable building practices. Our proudest green accomplishment was the completion of a project that received a LEED rating of platinum. The owners David Gulyas and wife Carol have documented the project on their sites.
